Location of Chicago

Chicago is the capital city of the North American Union and lies in the province of Illinois within the borders of the the former nation-state known as the United States of America. After the formation of the NAU, it was decided to move the capital and Chicago was central to the new union that now included Canada; furthermore, it was not besieged by the myriad problems that affected New York and, to a lesser extent, Washington, D.C.

The city consists of two parts: the inner city is now run down and crime-ridden and referred to as Old Chicago – which is in marked contrast to the wealthier and more technologically advanced New Chicago.
